Give him what? A great big kiss!

Father's Day was great this year! I got to spend it with my dad, which doesn't happen very often. We started out with Crepes on Catalpa and homemade granola enjoyed out on the patio in the warm morning sun. It was fun just to sit back and chat and enjoy the morning. Church was next, followed by a very gourmet dinner, Nachos ;)
I am so grateful for my dad, who has always been my biggest champion. I always know he loves me and is behind me. He is also so much fun--and my kids just love hearing (and repeating) all the funny things grandpa says. We are so glad we got to celebrate with him this year!
I am also so grateful for Rusty, and what a perfect dad he is for our kids. He has patience galore, and even after long, hard days at work he always has time and energy to spend with the kids. He is always taking them on fun adventures, and everyone loves bedtime stories with dad. Love you Rust!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, BEST running day of the year! We always have so much fun at this race running through the streets of Boulder, and celebrating Memorial Day. It was a great race this year, I PR'd by about a minute. Rusty ran a great race as well. We love to go to breakfast after the race and chose Walnut cafe this year. When our food arrived, we thought there was no possible way we would finish it all. We were wrong. We polished everything off easily! So delicious--especially after a hard morning of running.

On Turning 4

Dear Blake,
Happy birthday! What a fun, sweet, spunky boy you are growing into! You are a ray of sunshine at our house and I still love to smother you in kisses and squeeze your very adorable cheeks. This has been a big year for becoming more independent. You potty trained, learned to dress yourself, and went to preschool. You love to try new things and rarely want help from me if you think you can figure it out yourself. You are a kid with his own time table. NOTHING can coax you to hurry or do something in any other way but your own. Sometimes this is adorable, sometimes this is totally frustrating.
Lately I have loved when you ride your bike and I walk next to you. You jabber my ear off the entire time, and we stop to examine flowers, bugs, and other interesting things along the way.
You are a snuggle bug and love to climb in bed with me and daddy in the mornings. Daddy says that he is often woken by a stuffed animal staring him in the face and your sweet little giggle. You love for me to hold you "like a koala" where you wrap your legs around my waist and arms around my neck.
You have also inherited your mother's stubbornness. If you don't want to do something no amount of coaxing, pleading, or bribing can change your mind.
You have always been, and continue to be just a ray of sunshine, happiness, and love in our family. You make everyone smile and we all love you so much! Happy birthday my sweet son!
Love,
Mommy
